Heartbeats

LEVO Naturals is committed to creating a better world.  We believe in giving back and have elevated this belief into our action-based initiative, HEARTBEATS.

Every year we allocate 1% of our annual net revenue to support advocacy activities and social and environmental causes, including many charities and organizations both in our local community and around the globe.

The HEARTBEATS program is a partner-driven philanthropic initiative, fully managed and led by an internal volunteer committee of LEVO Naturals partners. The team has laid out the mission, vision, and values of HEARTBEATS as well as selecting, monitoring, evaluating, and researching which charities HEARTBEATS will support. Although the funds are provided by the company, our partners determine the direction and allocation.

The causes we support are as follows:
  • Environmental protection, health, remediation and education
  • Mental healthcare, well-being support and progressive models of community support of those in need
  • Children's welfare, education and well-being
  • Veterans affairs issues including mental health, family support, and housing
  • Credible science-based, natural and alternative medicine research
  • Addiction treatment and treatment research
Corporate giving has always been at the heart of our DNA. Over the past year, the LEVO group of companies have provided support to a number of organizations and charities including Foundations for Social Change, Whole Way House, Food Bank Canada, Take a Hike Foundation, Environmental Youth Alliance, Folds of Honor, and the American Botanical Council.

Rising Stars of Science

The Rising Stars of Science research grant program is an exciting opportunity for students who are passionate about exploring the growing potential of health active botanicals. This program will award scholarships of between $5,000-20,000 to graduate students who are conducting research in this field, with the aim of supporting their academic and professional development.

Active botanicals are plant-based compounds that have potential health benefits, and their study is a rapidly growing area of interest in the scientific community. The Rising Stars of Science grant program seeks to promote the exploration and understanding of these compounds, as well as to encourage the next generation of researchers to pursue careers in this field.

Grant selection criteria are as follows:

  • Academic Excellence: The grant applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or equivalent grades in their previous academic studies.
  • Research Proposal: The grant applicants must submit a detailed research proposal outlining their project's objectives, methods, expected outcomes, and timeline.
  • Relevance to Active Botanicals: The grant applicants' research projects must focus on the study of active botanicals and their potential health benefits, with targeted outcomes contributing to overall public health policy in meaningful way.
  • Innovation: The grant applicants' research proposals must demonstrate innovative thinking, novel approaches, and a significant contribution to the field of active botanicals.
  • Feasibility: The grant applicants' research proposals must be achievable within the grant period and budget.
  • Impact: The grant applicants' research proposals must have a clear and measurable impact on the field of active botanicals, and the results should have the potential to improve human health and well-being.
  • Future Career Goals: The grant applicants should provide a statement outlining their future career goals and how the grant will help them achieve these goals.
  • Budget and Justification: The grant applicants must provide a detailed budget and justification for their research project, including all expenses related to equipment, supplies, and travel.
  • Mentorship: The grant applicants must have a mentor who is an expert in the field of active botanicals and who will oversee their research project.
  • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: The grant program encourages applications from individuals from diverse backgrounds, including underrepresented groups in the field of active botanicals. Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in their research and academic pursuits.
Through this program, we hope to empower students to make important contributions to the field of active botanical research and to advance our collective understanding of the potential benefits of these compounds.
